What a charming book! I enjoyed the letter writing format used to tell the story. The main character Juliet is an author looking for her next book subject. She starts corresponding with a man from Guernsey who bought one of her old books and is looking for book recommendations. She learns about his book club and the eccentric members of the club. As she learns more, she finds the club an intriguing book subject. The backdrop of the story is the German occupation of the island of Guernsey and the impact on the lives of the book club members. The characters we are introduced to are quirky and charming. The book is written in a witty tone, but is in parts heart breaking and a tear jerker. It is a quick read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
