The Reading Date

Hello fellow book lovers! I'm Lucy and I blog about books, audiobooks and movies at The Reading Date. I'm testing the waters over here to see how it goes. What are you reading?

Ghost Town (Morganville Vampires, Book 9)

Ghost Town - Rachel Caine I always look forward to getting my fix of the next installment of The Morganville Vampire series. It is such a fun and action packed series. And although my interest in vampires has tapered off, this series continues to entertain. The series is still fresh and exciting – quite an accomplishment for the ninth book in a series. In Ghost Town, Claire and the gang are back in Morganville from taking their road trip in Kiss of Death. It is great to get back to the action in Morganville and see what Myrnin, Amelie and the other vampires are up to. This time Claire gets into a little trouble with the vampires and needs to make amends by working around the clock with Myrnin to fix the Morganville defense system once and for all. They think they have it fixed, but somewhere along the way a mistake happens, and that’s when people begin behaving more strange than usual in Morganville.Claire is pretty much on her own on this one, trying to solve the towns’ memory problems before the same thing happens to her. The memory loss takes some of her friends back a few years and it is interesting to see a glimpse of their past. It is fascinating to see their reactions to each other. Some of the past is heartbreaking, and it’s sad to see our beloved characters relive their past. Claire has the difficult task of trying to solve the problem with a few new unlikely recruits. This is my favorite book of the series yet- and the only one I have rated five stars. Ghost Town is a great books for fans of Myrnin, for fans of the romance of Claire and Shane, and for those wanting to learn more about Shane and his family. As usual there is a cliffhanger ending, and I’m excited to see where the series is headed next. The tenth installment Bite Club is due out May 2nd 2011.
